PostSubject: Weeknight MTG   Thu Sep 19, 2013 3:59 am

Hi all

I can get a key for the library fairly trivially if anyone wants to play some MTG weeknights! Sundays are cool and all but since it's fairly random who can actually make it, would anyone also want to play a bit during the week AS WELL as the usual Sunday slot?

So I guess the first question is, anyone interested?

I'm thinking 7:30 or 8pm until late. (11pm?) one night a week.

Joce said that Thursdays and Fridays are free (some other groups use it Mon, Tue and Wed) so that would be a good place to start.

So anyone interested in maybe Thursday or Friday evenings? If not, I can just kill this idea right now Smile

But hey, if the Sunday is not enough MTG for you, I can get some evenings going.

Let me know!

Otherwise, see you on a random Sunday Smile

PostSubject: need new players...   Fri Sep 20, 2013 1:31 am

Thusday could be good?
Probably the same problem, need new players...maybe worse?
because can Andy get transport out from PN, would Grant come?
Are there any more players likely from Ashhurst?

Good idea though especially if can attract players that find Sunday difficult, though i can see transport from PN being a problem????

Yeah, there will still be the same problem of logistics etc, and I agree, Thursday night would seem to be the best week night.

What this does give us however, is a second time slot we can use Smile

Like if we "put out the call" and not enough people can make that Sunday, we could see if everyone wants to do a Thursday instead?

At any rate, I'm just naturally free weeknights at the moment, so in addition to the Sunday, if anyone wanted to Cube or play some highlander on a Thursday night, it should be pretty easy to meet up and get some MTG action going.

I wouldn't be able to stay the whole time, but I'd be interested in coming

Yes the disadvantage is the time limit.
I guess Renee is thinking about CUBE draught which adds to the problem?

Ah, its pretty much the same time:

1:30 - 5pm = 3.5 hours
7:30pm - 11pm = 3.5 hours

After you have done a couple of Cube drafts you get pretty quick. Me and a mate can grid draft a deck in about 10 minutes!

But a proper Cube booster draft takes about 30 mins usually. That leaves 2-3 hours to play.

But we can just play our own decks if we want. Or a mix. I have quickly gridded myself up a deck before, it's pretty fun seeing what flows your way.
